The  Seal  of Yannitsa  <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A  text  about  botanical  therapy. I  treat  fever  through  medical  plants.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/strong>It  has  been  found  during  excavations in  Yannitsa, the  town  of  Pella   Prefecture  in  Greece. It  dates  back  to  5.000  B.C.,  when  Dorians,  Greeks,  Macedonians  started  using  the  letters  of  our  Alphabet  to   write.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\nThe   History  of  the  Seal:  In  the  summer  of  1998, during  an  excavation  carried  out  by  the  17 th  Ephorate  of  Antiquities  in  the  Neolithic  district  of the  Old  Market  in  Yannitsa,   the  town  of  the  Greek  Prefecture  of  Pella, an  important  discovery   about  Northern  Greece  came  to  light,  to  prove  the  truth   about  the  origin  of  the  script  the  Macedonians  used, which  was  Greek, and  not  a   loan by  the  Phoenicians.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Its   clusters  of  straight  engraving,<\/strong> are  the  code  of a   complicated   system  of  initial  writing<\/strong>. Although  it  sounds  strange  for some,  in  my  opinion  this  system  became known  to  us  through  Byzantine  Iconography. Its  dimensions  are  2,5 x 5,5 cm., it  is  long with  a  flat   and  smooth  surfaces,  which  are  engraved  and  they  have  a  hollow  and a  bent  form  respectively. This  seal,  according  to  the  Researcher  Archaeologist   P.  Chrysostomou, (\u00ab\u0394\u03b1\u03c5\u03bb\u03cc\u03c2\u00bb  \/ \u201cDavlos\u201d  magazine,   issue  244)  dates  back  to  5.000  B.C.,  and it  includes   three series  of  symbols,  which   look  like  the Greek   letters. I  understand what  Mr.  Chrysostomou  has  written, that the  Doctrine  about  the  Phoenician  origin  of  the  Greek  Letters,  has  been rejected. <\/span><\/p>\n

There  were  always  suspicions, but  now   there  is  written  evidence. Thus,  the  theory  about  the  origin  of  the  Greek  written  discourse  should  be  re-examined. Maybe   the  world  history  should  be  re-written  in  terms  of  the  roots  of  the  first  culture. Excavations  brought  to  light  the  first   small  but  very  important  evidence  about  that.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In  my  opinion,  it  documents  knowledge  of  medical  recipes,  as it  is  evident  when one   reads  and  interprets  the  text, which  is  transmitted  to   the  other  people.<\/span><\/p>\n

It  is  written  under  a  writing  system  with multi-used   acnes. It  was  not  an  unknown  way  of  writing,  even  nowadays. This  system  was  saved  until  now  by  the   Byzantine Iconography,  and  that  makes  it  very  easy  to  read. Around  the  carvings  one  can  find   small  holes,  that depict  in  detail       the   continuous  use  of  the  acnes. When  a  hole  is  found  on  a  acne, this  proves  that  the  letter  has  been  used  in  the  past  again. When  the  hole  is  on  an  edge, this  means  that  at  this  point  the  letter  finishes  and  after  the  hole, another  letter  starts, under  the same  style. This  is  a  writing  system  with  more details  than  that  which  emerged  after  the  Byzantine  Iconography, because the  holes    project  the  letters   clearly   and   in  detail. On  the surface  of  the  stone  seal, one  can  observe   clear embossed  clusters  of  letters,  which,  with the  aid  of  the  holes, define  the  words  of  the  text, despite  their  unequal   size. The  text is  phonetic  and  not  orthrographical, <\/strong>that  is  why  the  vowels   do  not  follow  the  grammatical  rules as they  are  known  nowadays, but  they  exist in  the text  instead,  in  the  form  of  carvings,  which  help  the   sculptor  to  use  these  acnes.  The  symbols  exist  in  a  writing  system  functioning  from  left  to right.  According  to  Mr.  Chrysostomou,  they  are  morphologically   identical  to  those  of  Vinca  (Bulgaria),   <\/strong>Grade\u0161nica  (Skopje)  <\/strong><\/em>and  Dispilio  (Kastoria). <\/strong>What  is  attested  here,  is  the  same  division  of  the  writing  surface  in  lines. The  elements  of  the  seal  are  being  developed  alongside  the  text   and  in  three  lines. The  sculptor  left  some  margins  on  the  left   and  right  sides  of  the   text, he\/she   condensed  it  in  three   lines  and he\/she  defined  the  separation  zones  in  lengthy  carvings   through   straight  lines, as    wide  as  the  text. It is  undoubtedly   a  system  of  initial  writing, <\/strong>which  confirms  not  only  the   medical  knowledge  of  the  time,  which  is  understood  through  the  interpretation  of  the  text, but  also  the  cultural  level  of  the  people  who  lived  in  the  area of  Orestida,  in  Macedonia, during the  Neolithic  Era.<\/span><\/p>\n

It  is a discovery  that  turns   over   any  existing  views. A  great  researcher  once  said  that  theories  exist   in  order  to  be  turned   over, that  is  the    way  the  science  advances.<\/em><\/strong> The  text  of  this  seal  is  enough  to  prove  the  origin  of  14  letters,  at  least, of  the  Greek  Alphabet. I  may   identify  the  missing  letters  in  another  text, so  the  Greek  Alphabet  is  completed.<\/span><\/p>\n

A  Philosophical  Approach  and  Investigation  of  the  Seal<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The  Yannitsa  Seal<\/em>  is  an  ancestral  text  of  Macedonia, of  high  importance, and I  dare  to say  that  it  is  the greatest  evidence  of  the  roots of  the  Greek  letters. I   understood  this  system  of  composite  writing,  by  comparing  it  to  the  Byzantine  Iconography,  which  uses  the  acnes  of  the  letters  in  multiple  ways, and  it  creates  clusters  of  overlapping  letters. As  a  result,  it is  not  a  new   system  of  writing. Its  understanding  though,  needs  time  and  study.   Only  Greek   letters<\/strong>  were  documented on  the  seal,  identical  to  those we  use  nowadays.  But  the  study did  not  stop  there.<\/span><\/p>\n

The  seal    under  investigation  was  the  object  of  study  of  a  Scientific  Conference  in  Thessaloniki,  and  a  lot  of  conclusions  were  drawn  during  it. \u039d\u03bf   papers  about  the  reading  of  the  seal  were  found  in  the  Conference  Proceedings   though.<\/span><\/p>\n

After   my  own  efforts, I  dare  to  say  that  this  Seal  can  now   speak. The  words  written  on  it  are  one  of  the  initial  Greek   texts,  and  probably  of Europe,   <\/strong>along  with  the  inscription  of  Dispilio,  in  Kastoria,  <\/strong>which  I  have  also  read,  interpreted  and  turned  to  a  melody  long  ago. In  the  Ancestral  Texts  Unit  of  the website, one can  find  a  Paper  titled  The  Inscription  of  Dispilio,<\/em> which  includes  my  views  about  it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Plenty  of  researchers  have  already  studied  this  topic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The  writing  style, the  letters  and  the  essence  of  this  text,  are   the  proof  of  knowledge  about   our  ancestral  culture. <\/strong>It  belongs  to  the  group  of  the  first   greek  texts. It  is  a  transitional  phase, where  the  Greek  people  pass  from  Linear  B, to a  new  way  of  phonetic  transcription  of  the  sounds  of  the  words  through  new  symbols, as  the  vowels  have  been  separated.<\/span><\/p>\n

The  words  of  this  text, as  well  as  the  writing  system   are  Greek, with clusters  of  letters  and  a  multiple  use  <\/strong>of  the  acnes  of  the  letters. There  are   65  letters  in  total, identical  to  those  used  nowadays  in the  Greek  alphabet. The  Grammatical  and  Syntactic  structure  of  the  text  follows  the  rules  of  the  Classical  Language, with  a  particularity  though. It  is  the   era  when  written  discourse  almost  always  records  the  root  of  the  word, without   the  suffix  of  the   verb. Nevertheless, we  are  in the  beginning  of  the  written  discourse,  which  is    different   enough  and  maybe  more  deficient  than  the  \u0399\u03bfnic  one, which  is delicate  and  perfect. If  we  do  not  understand  that, we  will  not  be  able  to  approach  any  text. This  writing  system  is  a  continuous  quotation   of  letter  clusters. Thus,  the  reader  should  identify  the  series   of  the  letters,  in  order  to  figure  the  words  and  meaningful  sentences.<\/span><\/p>\n

While  reading  this  text,  one  can  realize  that  it  is    phonetic  and  not  an  orthographical  one,  like  all  the    first  Greek  texts  of  the  time. We  do  not  search  for  spelling  with  grammatical  and  syntactic  rules, as  we  use  it  today,   in  the  phonetic  system. Instead,  these  rules  emerge  later, when  the  discourse  is  more  mature  and  meaningful.<\/span><\/p>\n

This  seal, along  with  other  equally  interesting texts  of  the  time I  have  read,    are  the  first  important  proof  of  the  origin  of  the  letters  of  the  Greek  Alphabet, which  some  people, even  nowadays,  consider  having    Phoenician  roots.  I  will  dare  to  say  that  I  distinguish   14  letters   among  the  65  of  the  text,  that  belong  to  the  Greek  Alphabet. If  I were  lucky  enough  to  find  more  seals,  I  would  probably   locate the  missing  letters  in  them. The  first  conclusion  is  that  we  did  not  borrow  the  letters  we use  in  the  writing  discourse<\/strong>. We  have  got  our  own  letters,  since  7.000  years  ago. These  are  the  first  symbols  to  use  while  writing  in  the  Civilized  Europe  of  today, and  their  womb  is  Greek. It  is  the  first  writing  of  Orestis,  the area  of  Macedonia, and  it  was  spread  in   all  the  parts  of  Greece.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I  made  a  big  effort  to  identify  the  words  at  first,   then  I  completed   the  meaning  of   the  sentences  in  the  text,  and  now  I  can    present  the  full  result,  accurately  and  with   a  scientific  methodological  approach  of  the  words.<\/span><\/p>\n

The  text  is  absolute  and  clear<\/strong>. A  young  man  (probably) suffers  patiently   physical  pain  and  fever<\/strong>. As,  a  result,  a  doctor  is  there  to  diagnose  symptoms of   disorder  of  the  normal  body  function  and  to  make  the  relevant  decisions.  He  has  a  physical  pain,  which   results  in  spasms  and  fever. Maybe  in  the  bog  of  Yannitsa  that  time,  people  used  to  call  \u039calaria  the  fever,  as  well  as  to  call  fever,  any  infectious  disease. Admirable  knowledge    of  primitive  people<\/strong>, as  we  call  them  nowadays.<\/span><\/p>\n

His  medical  knowledge  surprises  us. Willow  tea, of this  unpleasant  taste, and  sour  apples  relieve  him   from  pain.   Seven  years  ago  they  had  botanical  knowledge. They  know  about  the  relieving   property  of  the  willow  bark  and  of  holly. <\/strong>Medical  knowledge  that  Hippocrates  and  Dioscourides  later  documented,  and  we  copy,   after  having  acquired  it  only  one  century  ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

He  feels  satisfied  enough   when  he  works  with  clay. <\/strong>We  understand  that  people  of  the  time    had  other  occupations,  apart  from   medical  knowledge. They  deal  with  Pottery  and  Sculpture. The  hero  of  the  text   works  with  clay. As  a  result, he  writes  letters  or  creates  images  on  the  clay. He  suffers  less  from  fever now,  as  fresh  air  cools  his  body. This  is  the  first  recorded  medical  action,  as  a  kind  of  recovery. <\/strong>The  patient who  suffers  from  fever,  is  exposed  to  fresh  air,  in  order  to  feel  better. This  is what  we  do  nowadays  as  well. So,  which  is  the  difference  between  us,  the  \u201ccivilized  people\u201d  and  those  of  the  past?<\/span><\/p>\n

However,  the  sculptor   writes   neither  on  the  clay  nor  on  tile. Instead, he   can   carve  harder  surfaces, after  he smooths  them,  like  the  seal  in  question. Engraving   of  the  time,  on  hard, resistant  materials,  is  the   link  with  the  present,  as  it  allows  us  to  approach  the  knowledge,  the  activity, the  views, the  situations, the  illnesses, recovery methods  and  physical  phenomena,  even  with  some  difficulty. If  they  had  written   on  biodegradable  materials, there  would  have  been  no  indication  of   their  activity  and  knowledge, as  a  footprint  of that  period. Fortunately, the  stone, the  marble, the  clay, the  tile, the  impregnated  wood, the  mummification,  have  saved   objects, inscriptions, images, that  witness  the  truths  of  the  past.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last  but  not  least, this   seal  is  the  great  evidence  of  the  letters  we  use  to  write  nowadays. I  have  searched  the Phoenician  presence  and  historical  route  across time. All  the   researchers  mention  the  year  2000 B.C., as  the  year  they   appear. As  a  result, they  appear  later  than  the  people  in  Orestis,  Macedonia, in  Karanos  time,  as  a  social  group  and  as  culture. One  of  their  cultural  footprints   is  this  seal. On  this seal, one  can  find    65  letters,  3-A, 1-<\/strong>\u0393<\/strong>, 4-<\/strong>\u0395<\/strong>, 1-<\/strong>\u0398<\/strong>, 18-<\/strong>\u0399<\/strong>, 1-<\/strong>\u039a<\/strong>, 12-<\/strong>\u039b<\/strong>, 1-<\/strong>\u039c<\/strong>, 1-<\/strong>\u039e<\/strong>, 3-<\/strong>\u03a0<\/strong>, 2-<\/strong>\u03a3<\/strong>, 4-<\/strong>\u03a4<\/strong>, 10-<\/strong>\u03a5<\/strong>, 4-<\/strong>\u03a7<\/strong>. <\/strong>\u0399t  would  be  better  if  the  text  was  longer  and  there  were  more  letters  in  it. There  is   absolute  evidence  of  the Greek,  Macedonian  origin  of  these  14  letters. <\/strong>Maybe  the  scientists  after  the  presentation  of  this  ancestral  knowledge,   should  review  what  they  accepted  as  Greek  writing. It  is  proven  that  Macedonia  is  the  starting  point  of  this  writing, and  it  spread  along  time  to  all  the  Greeks,  through  the  Doric  Dialect.<\/span><\/p>\n

As  a  Macedonian  I  am  proud  of  the  Greek  origin  of  the  letters,  which were  invented  by  my  ancestors  and   offered  as  a  gift   to  the  civilized  world  by  the people  of  Orestis  in  Macedonia. <\/span><\/p>\n
