The&nbsp; virgin&nbsp; officiates.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\"><strong>They&nbsp; were&nbsp; found&nbsp; in&nbsp; the&nbsp; Minoan&nbsp; Sanctuary&nbsp; of Juktas,&nbsp; in&nbsp; Minoan&nbsp; Crete, Greece. She&nbsp; places&nbsp; the&nbsp; bleeding&nbsp;&nbsp; carcasses&nbsp; on&nbsp; the&nbsp; altar&nbsp; so&nbsp; that&nbsp; they&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;dry&nbsp; off, before&nbsp; they&nbsp; are&nbsp; delivered&nbsp; to&nbsp; the&nbsp; worshippers&nbsp; for&nbsp; <strong><em>kourpan*<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; (\u201c<strong><em>\u03ba\u03bf\u03c5\u03c1\u03c0\u03ac\u03bd<\/em><\/strong>\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">*<strong><em> kourpan:&nbsp; <\/em><\/strong>I&nbsp; serve&nbsp; everybody&nbsp; during&nbsp; the&nbsp; ritual&nbsp; and&nbsp; after&nbsp; it, a&nbsp; custom&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;delivered&nbsp; to&nbsp; us&nbsp;&nbsp; by&nbsp; <strong>Sanni<\/strong>.
