{"id":555,"date":"2021-05-01T13:57:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-01T13:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/ignition-service\/\/"},"modified":"2022-05-23T17:48:11","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T17:48:11","slug":"i-mitera-komi-praisos-kritis","status":"publish","type":"ignition-service","link":"https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/en\/ignition-service\/i-mitera-komi-praisos-kritis\/","title":{"rendered":"MOTHER  KOMI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">Mother&nbsp; Komi- (<em>Matar&nbsp; Komna<\/em>\/<em>\u039c\u03ac\u03c4\u03b1\u03c1<\/em><em>&nbsp; \u039a\u03ce\u03bc\u03bd\u03b1<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">The&nbsp; proceedings&nbsp; of&nbsp; colonization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">It&nbsp; was&nbsp; found&nbsp; in&nbsp; 1904, in&nbsp; Praisos,&nbsp; Crete,&nbsp; Greece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">It&nbsp; dates&nbsp; back&nbsp; to&nbsp; the&nbsp; years&nbsp; after&nbsp; 400&nbsp; B.C..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"322\" height=\"600\" class=\"wp-image-558\" src=\"https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/matar1.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/matar1.jpg 322w, https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/matar1-161x300.jpg 161w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 322px) 100vw, 322px\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: flor;\">MOTHER&nbsp; KOMNA<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">Clear&nbsp; writing&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; text&nbsp;&nbsp; on&nbsp; the&nbsp; rock.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"220\" height=\"600\" class=\"wp-image-559\" src=\"https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/matar2.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/matar2.jpg 220w, https:\/\/sarpidon-academy.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/matar2-110x300.jpg 110w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">An&nbsp; accurate&nbsp; copy&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; inscription,&nbsp; taken&nbsp; from&nbsp; page&nbsp;&nbsp; 104&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp;&nbsp; book&nbsp; <em>Pelasgika<\/em>&nbsp; (<em>\u03a0\u03b5\u03bb\u03b1\u03c3\u03b3\u03b9\u03ba\u03ac<\/em>), written&nbsp; by&nbsp; Iakovos&nbsp; Thomopoulos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">As&nbsp; the&nbsp; rock&nbsp; has&nbsp; been&nbsp; destroyed,&nbsp; only&nbsp; extracts&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; text&nbsp; are&nbsp; available,&nbsp; thus,&nbsp; the&nbsp; conclusions&nbsp; we&nbsp; draw&nbsp; are&nbsp; very&nbsp; few.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">This&nbsp; inscription&nbsp; was&nbsp; discovered&nbsp; in&nbsp; June&nbsp; 1904, during&nbsp; the&nbsp; excavations&nbsp; in&nbsp; the&nbsp; acropolis&nbsp; of&nbsp; Praisos, by&nbsp; Bosanguet. There&nbsp; were&nbsp; pieces&nbsp; of&nbsp; her&nbsp; left&nbsp; part&nbsp; found, so&nbsp; the&nbsp; whole&nbsp; text&nbsp; is&nbsp; not&nbsp; available. We&nbsp; can&nbsp; observe&nbsp; some&nbsp; innovations&nbsp; concerning&nbsp; the&nbsp; letters, on &nbsp;the&nbsp; right&nbsp; part,&nbsp; because&nbsp; its&nbsp; slate&nbsp; has&nbsp; been&nbsp; fully&nbsp; saved. We&nbsp; can&nbsp; find&nbsp; letters&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; Ionian&nbsp; Alphabet, like&nbsp; H, \u03a9, and&nbsp; the&nbsp; digamma&nbsp;&nbsp; F,&nbsp; which&nbsp; cannot&nbsp; be&nbsp; found&nbsp; on&nbsp; older&nbsp; inscriptions. As&nbsp; half&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; text&nbsp; is&nbsp; missing, we&nbsp; cannot&nbsp; interpret&nbsp; it&nbsp; in&nbsp; total. Instead,&nbsp; we&nbsp; can&nbsp; infer&nbsp; the&nbsp; content&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; text&nbsp; by&nbsp; the&nbsp; words&nbsp; we&nbsp; have&nbsp; identified.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\"><strong>We &nbsp;identified&nbsp; some&nbsp; words&nbsp; &nbsp;in&nbsp; the&nbsp; actual&nbsp; text. We&nbsp;&nbsp; read&nbsp; them, we&nbsp; rendered&nbsp;&nbsp; them &nbsp;into&nbsp; Modern&nbsp; Greek,&nbsp; but&nbsp; we&nbsp; also&nbsp; approached&nbsp; them &nbsp;&nbsp;philosophically.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: flor;\">The&nbsp; language&nbsp; of&nbsp; the&nbsp; text&nbsp; is&nbsp; Greek,&nbsp; , typical&nbsp; of&nbsp; any&nbsp; Archaic Doric <strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>text.
